March 2019
I attended the Whale of a Crime writer’s
conference, sponsored by Left Coast Crime,
from March 28-31, 2019. I also served as a panelist for the first time.
Another great experience!
I met some wonderful authors and readers, and had the chance to learn more about the craft of writing.
And all that in the beautiful setting of downtown Vancouver. What more could I ask for?
Congratulations to the winners of the prize package:
Lori Terrell
Karen Slaughter
Pat Welte
Claire Moore
Carol Philip
Stay tuned for other promotions or giveaways
KILLER NASHVILLE INTERNATIONAL WRITER’S CONFERENCE – August 23 to 26, 2018
I’m back from the Killer Nashville Writer’s Conference feeling inspired.
I met so many talented, encouraging writers, whether they were bestselling authors or other just starting out.
The workshops, panels, events, and networking were worth their weight in gold. No matter how many conferences I attend in the future, Killer Nashville will always stand out.
Many thanks to the organizers, panelists, guests, and attendees for making it an unforgettable experience for me.

APRIL 22, 2018 – L.A. TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS – UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
I attended this book festival that took place over two days – April 21st and 22nd – in beautiful southern California! I was very excited about this opportunity to meet other authors and book-lovers.
My signing slot was Sunday morning from 10:00 to 11:25 a.m. at the Black Rose Writing booth, but I dropped by the booth on Saturday to scope out the site, meet the other hard-working Black Rose authors, and enjoy the beautiful venue.
What an experience! It was my first time attending a book festival (I know. do you believe it?) and I couldn’t have asked for a better initiation. The weather, of course, was warm and beautiful (I had left behind lots of snow in Québec), and the USC campus was lovely. I was in book-lover’s paradise.
APRIL 28, 2018 – BAY AREA BOOK FESTIVAL – DOWNTOWN BERKELEY
What a week! We took in the sights in L.A., and drove up the coast, visiting Santa Barbara, Carmel, and Monterey along the way. San Francisco, of course, is a jewel to be enjoyed, and we even squeezed in a day of wine-tasting in the Napa Valley. A dream come true!
I spent all day Saturday, signing copies of Sins of the Fathers at the Black Rose Writing booth of the Bay Area Book Festival. Having the entire day gave me a lot of time to network with fellow Black Rose authors Brad Chisholm and Claire Kim. Matthew Brockmeyer even dropped by a couple of times to chat. It was loads of fun meeting authors and book readers who passed by and stopped to exchange experiences and stories.
Unfortunately, I was too distracted to take pictures in Berkeley, except for this one of our table.
All in all, it was a great ten days in California, and it definitely gave me the taste to do it again.
